Amorphophallus atroviridis a delicate-looking tree that grows in a small part of Thailand. Amorphophallus atroviridis is highly coveted because of its gorgeous velvet coloured leaves that are dark crimson coloured with a pink edge, they are change shape regulalry as they grow creating beautiful star like shapes. The stems can also be highly patterned. A real unsual collectors plant and we have some beautiful hand picked examples.
Amorphophallus atroviridist is very hard hard to find in this large size, and rarely seen for sale. Please note these are large plants noit suitable for posting and so only avaliable for hand delivery by the happy houseplants team in greater London - please calls us if uncertain.
The plant may go dormant and the tuber should be kept completely dry in a cool dry spot, in January each year give the plant a good soak for 24 hours and then plant the caudex on top of the soil, pushing gently and firmly so the plant makes contact with the soil. After a few weeks, the plant will slowly wake up.
General care is very simple, the plant likes good light and humidity. The tuber stores water well so it doesn't require a great deal of watering, in fact too much watering or sitting in damp soil will rot the plant. Use our tropical plant dew and spray the plant regularly to keep it in top condition.
