Biophytum sensitivum, also known as little tree plant, or Mukkootti (in Malayalam language) is commonly found in wet lands of Nepal, tropical India and in other Southeast Asian countries and is used for medicinal purposes in Nepaland India.
 
Biophytum sensitivum is very distinctive and resembles a small palm tree, insterestingly it's leaves close up at night. It has star shaped white-pink flowers in summer.

Where should I put Biophytum sensitivum?
It needs a warm room away from draughts and bright but indirect light - if it’s put in full sun the leaves may curl up and burn. It an ideal plant for a terrarium. 
 
How should I water Biophytum sensitivumit?
Water when the top few inches are dry to the touch and then soak and allow to drain, use rainwater if possible. The soil needs to be kept moist but do not let it sit in water. 
 
Should I feed it?
You can feed in spring and summer - try our vegan, organic plant food!
