The beautiful Impatiens phengklaii a new species that was found in a small section of Thailand very recently, where it is rare. This is an unusual but very attractive plant. It grows from a large, rock-like base, and has very dark leaves with lighter veins producing beautiful pink and orange flowers.
It's very slow-growing, so large caudex or bulbs are usually over ten years old. As a true indoor Bonsai, it really adds a beautiful natural accent to any space and is a really very unique plant. this plant is very rarely for sale.
The plant will go dormant at least once a year and the caudex should be kept completely dry in a cool dry spot, in January each year give the plant a good soak for 24 hours and then plant the caudex on top of the soil, pushing gently and firmly so the plant makes contact with the soil. After a few weeks, the plant will slowly wake up.
General care is very simple, the Impatiens Phengklaii likes good light and humidity. The caudex stores water well so it doesn't require a great deal of watering, in fact too much watering or sitting in damp soil will rot the plant. Use our tropical plant dew and spray the plant regularly to keep it in top condition.
