These Kentia plams are really full and beautiful. The Kentia Palm or Thatch Palmis an excellent palm for inside because it's hardy to the humidity indoors, slow-growing and looks amazing. The Kentia Palm is a popular houseplant because it has the classical tropical palm appearance: pinnate leaves and arching and drooping leaflets. It creates an instant jungle look and its narrow leaves let through dappled sunlight, creating a wonderful shadow in most rooms.
They are expensive because like most palms they are slow-growing: it takes six to seven years to get a beautiful show piece plant like ours. In fact, if you have ever ventured through the world-famous palm house at Kew Gardens you would have seen the space you can create with several varieties of palms.
Our tip for the Kentia Palm is go big! They look wonderful when established and well worth the extra cost. Like most houseplants it will thrive if you treat it a little bit mean. Water sparingly and give it some space to grow and you will be rewarded with a wonderful specimen plant.
We sell a variety of Palms including Kentia and Arecca and source the best value for money.
