The Standout houseplant style! Gloriously stylish, the large Ficus Lyrata or Fiddle leaf fig tree is the king of the tropical large leaf houseplants, with leaves shaped like violins, crisscrossed with prominent veins hence its common name Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree.
Ficus Lyrata says opulence, it’s a complete A lister! A large indoor plant is how we know it, but Fiddle leaf fig originates in the rainforests of central and western Africa and it has become a favourite for those who like to buy house plants as an eye-catching centrepiece or bold statement for a room. At home on the cover of a magazine, the Fiddle leaf fig is the epitome of style.
The knock-them-dead style of the Fiddle fig has everyone clamouring for one of these wonderful large houseplants. Superb in any style of home or room, it’s as comfortable gracing the rugs in the living room as it is in swathes of steam in the bathroom. Even in the kitchen it adds a touch of unbeatable class.
The Fig Leaf tree is available to you in several forms - here we have the lollipop shape, with the plant’s elegant stem forming part of the statement, the leaves luxuriantly branching out from the top finishing the look. We love this lollipop shape that reaches upwards and makes you imagine it’s native jungle. If you think of a lollipop then you have the right idea - a thin stem with branches and leaves making the top of the lollipop!
Caring for the large Fiddle Leaf Fig isn’t difficult - you just have to remember that it’s from the tropics and loves humidity - and hates overwatering! A good tip is to mist it daily so that it collects moisture on the leaves, then water the soil occasionally.
The Large Ficus Lyrata prefers to be left alone - it won’t like being moved from a spot where it’s settled, so chill out and admire it from the sofa!
You might want to give this houseplant as an extra special indoor plant gift! We’ll include a free, handwritten card with your gift. Just note your message at the basket stage of checkout and we’ll do the rest. We won’t include any giveaway paperwork!
