Mammillaria tepelcactus is a stable genetic mutation in which each areole only produces one spine, the crest form - despite its beauty - is still very rare and sought after by collectors because of its unique look. Most of the mammillaria are native to Mexico, but some come from the southwest United States, the Caribbean and South America. It is one of the sweetest and most charming cactus varieties, with hundreds of beautiful small cactus avaliable.
