Echinopsis Chamaecereus or Peanut cactus is a native of Brazil and is a beautiful easy-care plant wIth cactus-like trailing leaves but without spines or needles. It will also work very well as an unusual pot plant. It's a very fast grower and will thrive in a small pot for years. The common name “peanut cactus” comes from the long, creeping cactus stems resembling a pile of fuzzy peanuts.
In the wild it's native to Brazil, where it lives in tropical subtropical or tropical forests, hanging or hanging on branches or growing in the hollow of old trees. The main threat to the species is deforestation.
In the Peanut Cactus native habitat, it can be found growing along tree branches as an epiphyte, never harming its host but growing in harmony adding to the biomass and diversity of an ecosystem.
