We adore this wonderful hanging houseplant, Dischidia Oiantha Variegata for its beautiful shape and leaves. A native of the rainforests of China and Asia, dischidia oiantha variegata is a epiphyte, making its home in the branches of a tree it uses as its host. 
 
It has light green leaves with silver varigation, its stems forming roots along nodes to absorb nutrients and water.  In the rainforest the stems trail down from the branches of the tree that is its home.
 
Of course, as a small hanging houseplant, it doesn’t need a tree to sit on, but we do provide a wooden block that you can soak in water when your plant is dry. This will provide enough water for your Dischidia Oiantha to be a happy houseplant.
 
This small hanging houseplant is fairly drought tolerant, so you don’t need to worry if you forget to water it from time to time…..it’s a very easy going plant and is great if you are a beginner to houseplants. One of those mini house plants with a big personality!
